So here is the deal. Right now I wear a H-D half lid. It is huge. I need a smaller helmet. Has to be DOT.

So what I want is a Skullcrush sort of helmet, with a DOT certification. Not asking too much is it?

Suggestions?

I wear an HCI half helmet that is DOT approved. It is one of the nicer helmets around without too much mushroom effect. I understand leatherup.com also sells some nice dot helmets but I've never tried one.

Thanks, Harley Ranger. Anyone buy a helmet from Daytona helmets. They look like they're low profile, but there is no picture of the helmet on someone's head.

Scorpion EXO-100 is a nice half helmet. Not exactly a skid lid but is very comfotable, has air vents, zip in ear covers, pop down visor thats real nice when you hit rain. If you buy one and want to change the size you can buy a new inner liner for about $15. XS, S, M are all same shell.

I go through phases with what helmet I wear. Used to always wear 3/4 helmets, then got tired of the size. After that I wore novelties and head-trip skid lids for years. Now I'm back to wearing 3/4 helmets at least in the winter. I like the ear covering because it keeps my ears from ringing for hours after I put in a day riding, and the 3/4 with face shield is warmer.

Thanks, bro. Daytona was looking good and you saved me time and hassle with that assessment. That helmet that you linked to looks good and they actually show someone wearing it. Do you have that one?

I don't have that one. I've got the Jarz (which I like). This one looks similar and is $20 cheaper...

So do head injuries. I live in a state with no helmet law. Just choose to wear one.
