Why is sludge not prone like a car. Sludge is created from oil and heat cycles. With air cooled bikes sludge is ecspecially more prone. I do agree with the synthetic oil part though.

Just change the oil per the manual and go ride. You are trying to fix issues you don't have.

You can use it in your oil, gas, tranny, and dont forget an ounce in each spark plug hole, works great, my heads and exhaust have never sounded so good.

Dry sump engine design. Most sludge is caused by oil "coking" in passages after shutdown. Harley engines return the oil to the tank.

Sea Foam is made up largely of pale oil (50%) naptha (30%) and isopropol alcohol (20%). The alcohol is easily noticed as soon as you open the container.
Adding even more cleaners to an oil product already stocked with detergents is redundant. Particularly when 20% of the added cleaning agent is alcohol.
You guys do whatever floats your boats but that stuff won't ever go into my H-D motor. I stopped using it in my fuel too - it already contains enough alcohol (10%).

I add it to my fuel every 10k or so and to every 3rd or 4th oil change.
Add to oil as recommended, drive 50-100 miles, change oil.
Look at your oil (on the dipstick) before you add it and then right before the oil change.
It's dark as crap afterwards............
It's gotta be cleaning something out.
FYI........55k and no oil usage between changes, no injector problems either.

Hey Danny --- Hope you don't mind, but I wanna steal this thread for a minute. Is it best to put Seafoam in the gas tank just AFTER you get back from a ride, while it sits for a while before you ride again, or best to put it in just BEFORE you ride, or doesn't it make any difference?

I add it to my oil on the first oil change when I buy a used bike. Never know what the previous owner did to the bike so it gives me piece of mind .

Do it before So it will clean the fuel system as it runs, burning any contaminates.

No reason at all to add it to your crankcase. Like others have said, if you don't have an isue, change the oil at regular intervals with synthetic and ride. If you want to clean the top end, the product that works great for me is Amsoil's Quick Shot, excellent cleaner and will help with any ethanol issues, and will stabilize fuel for 6 months.
I put this in my Wifes bike, didn't tell her and she went on all day about how well her bike was running that day.
