Default Nitrogen in tires

Anybody running nitrogen in ther tires. I understand nitrogen maintains better tire pressure, tires run 20 percent cooler and supposed to reduce tire failures by 80 percent. Cost is about 5 bucks a tire.

The local Costco tire shop fills all tires with nitrogen. Your correct, the benefit is that it maintains tire pressure better than standard air inflation. Im thinking of riding my bike there and seeing if I can get mine filled

I do not run it...and think it is a racket for folks to make money. HOG mag had a small article about this in bike tires I think last month...and it reflects my thoughts exactly.
The Air you breath is 78% nitogen. They have no way of pulling a vaccum from your bike tires to remove all the regular air from the tire...so there is still some moister in the air of your tires.
On a large volume tire like a big truck you probably will increase the percentage of nitrogen in the tire and have better results. Because of the small volume the pressure will still change with the temperature and need to be adjusted some. What you going to top them off with...probably regular air from a regular compressor. No body I know has a nitrogen bottle to add 3 PSI to my tires after a cold snap.. Your Tire presssures will still change with changes in temperature, so do not neglect to check your tires before you ride for your own safety because you have nitrogen in them.
Yeah...I know nascar uses it in the race car tires.
I will continue to check the air pressure in my tires before I ride... IF I pick up a nail, good chance I will see a decrease in pressure when I check my air pressure of my tires. I am very **** about the air pressure in my tires. I use a high accuracy gauge and check them before I take off on a ride.

You want to use it...I do not think it will hurt a thing, as the nitrogen molecule is larger and will not seep out as bad as regular moister laden air.
My 2 cents.

Will maintain the AP in a tubed tire for a long time (I tried it). Tubeless you still need to check it. ( Did this too). No advantage that I can see. No longer life or better handling...I think the jury is still out on this one but makes big bucks for the dealerships...Use Air and a Tire gauge its cheaper...

Larger nitrogen molecules so the pressure stays at where you set it longer, ( slower leak down.)

Or you could just check your pressures once a week like the smart folks do.

Allegedly, it helps the tire hold air better. If you're not already checking your tires regularly, sell your bike or submit to Darwin's will.

Allegedly, if helps fuel economy. If that's important to you, pay attention to how you ride and realize much better gains.

Allegedly, it maintains more uniform pressure throughout the tire. Which would be important if everyone filled their tires to 35.1609569 psi instead of, "30, 35, whatever."

This made me lol. We should all sign up for tax breaks for our hybrids!
