"Back in the day" I use to ride sport bikes with a full face, after many years away from bikes I bought a harley sportster last summer and gave the Bell Custom 500 helmet a try. Not sure if I like it, too many bugs and crap always hitting my face. So I think I'm going to buy the Bell Vortex full face helment...the question is, should I go with the matte black or the gloss black. Which one is more "Harley"? Not trying to start the whole full face vs open face debate, just looking for a few opinions on what might look better with my sporty. Thanks

 

I have a flat black Icon FF. I like that it doesn't show swirl marks like my old gloss black did. I think a full face match's the street fighter style of my Fat Bob. For the Sporties and the V-Rod the full face looks right, for the Road Kings and Heritages not happening style wise.

Depends on the color of your Sportster and if you wear blue jeans (faded or new) and how new is your leather jacket. Lots of things to consider before spending your money. Don't take the opinion of forum nerds. Look for a true biker, preferably a patched 1%er and ask his opinion. And watch out for those friggin bugs, especially this time of year. A full face does offer more safety from insects.

Also, always capitalize Harley. It's what we do.
