no need for all the flash animations, sounds when you mouse over certain items, etc.
just a simple, clear ,easy to navigate site works best ...i also like the idea of products shown installed as well, takes alot of the guess work out of the scenario!
and links to the commercial you shot with the burnouts that is showing on speed channel is a good idea. So we can click on it and view it.
map and directions (so we know where it is and how far from us) and pictures of the workers gives it a personal touch so you have a visual of a contact when your on the phone with them or come in and buy something you know who you dealt with.
Have a links page to show your affiliations. Its nice to throw some cash at a guy or a shop that supports the same values and clubs or associations as i do.
and ... well - i will give you the rest of my list when i see you tomorrow
oh and drop the link here in this thread so we can see the old site and give you suggestions for better look and feel (i can not find the bookmark on this cpu)
1. I don't like pop-ups like those that appear on this forum. They get in my way when I'm reading a post and it alwaystakes a second or two for them to drop off the screen...hate 'em and they waste my time!
2.I don't like Flash programs onthe homepage...doesn't do anything for me but waste my time.I'm always looking for the 'skip intro' button to get through them.
3. Easily navigable pages with clear and descriptive drop down menu boxes. Rather than making me guess whether an item is in one large category it is always nice for a drop down box to list specific items rather than resorting to the search key.
4. Search keys that accept specific words and item #'s...sometimes I may have one and not the other.
5. Pictures of the items on the bikes and links to the manufacturer.
6. I like M and M Cycles web page with the item search function right in the middle of the page.Look at ebay for the search key...it'll take you awhile to find it.
7.Be conservative withyour babepictures...I'd rather see nice bikes with the parts I want on it.
8.Use bright colors rather than black, red or other dark colors.
