Default CVO Power Band vs 103 Power band ?'s

So I traded my fat boy in on the CVO Electra Glide.

Got my tune and pipes on, same v&h big radius pipes.

Bike sounds killer now.

I'm guessing the bike just has more power, even though it's heavier, it rips through the gears pretty quick.

With the fat boy, i found myself shifting around 2800 or so, and really "grunting" the low end and hearing the bike work.

With the CVO, I don't know if the gearing is different, or if it's the power, or what. But it seems like the bike is more at home above 3000 rpms.

I'm a drag racer at heart, so I love speed, but at the same time, i really loved laying into the fat boy for that "grunt"

Should I go down in sprocket? Change cam, or what to get that back.

If I do that, am I sacrificing power?

Shifting at 2800? Grunting the low end? Not a good recipe for a Harley. I try to keep the motor above 2300 rpms. If it is lower than that, I down shift and it is happier at 3000. I don't get where you're a drag racer at heart, but like to lug the motor at a low rpm. The twin cam especially likes a little more rev. You can do damage by lugging it.

For cruising 2.8 to 3K keeps "Martha " happy . Shift somewhere above 3K . All depends on road conditions , situation I'm in and how I feel at the moment .6th gear only above 65mph.

i guess i should re phrase, it wasn't that it was "lugging" but that 2300-2800 rpm, the bike just sounded good, and at home

on this bike, it sounds at home from 2700-3500 rpms

it's just a different feel in the band

The 110 does have a 255 cam which makes a different animal. However, I guarandamtee ya that ANY Harley will run better, be in a better power band above 3000 rpm vs 2300-2800 rpm.
