Ill have to check..Havent done an odomoter/mileage check yet but the needle is buried on E and tank looks/ sounds dry.

My light comes on when I have 42 miles showing on the range gauge. But the gas gauge is already showing empty by then. I trust the range gauge more than the gas gauge. In fact, I wish they would do away with the gas gauge and put a regular gas cap there like they used to.

When my gauge is on empty the light is not on until I go another 40 miles than it will be on and than I only have 1 gallon left in the tank. But after running my tank down to empty every time for more than a year I learned that you do not want to run it that low because the fuel pump is in the tank and the gas helps keep the fuel pump cool and if you run it down to empty your fuel pump might get hot like mine did and than crack

ON my RKC, the guage is pretty accurate, but when that light comes on I gotta get gas like NOW, 'cause I have about a mile before she's OUT! happened to me a couple months ago; fortunately right in front of a gas station.

OP--Forget about fuel gauges and lights. You should be using your trip odometer to determine when to refuel. It is helpful to keep a fuel log.

5yrs and 36K and I've never had any problems with either the gas gauge or low light, the light has always come on between .9 to 1.1 gal left in the tank and that's usually between 165 to 190 miles after filling her up, depending on where I am riding.

Average putting around the light comes on around 175.
