Go out on a limb. Be maybe the first and do it. Take some pics post em. Sit back and see what happens.

Yes it can be done. The adapters are pricey.

My Road King Police Interceptor came with passenger foot pegs instead of floorboards. Police bikes come from the factory as a one person bike, so when the dealer reconditions them for resale, they outfit them with a cheap 2 up seat, and the pegs. Predictably, I bought floorboards at the parts counter..
Just this AM, I started another thread regarding my search for a Mustang seat to replace the Harley seat.
So yes, Harley does have passenger foot pegs for Road King bikes

My RK Police came with no passenger accommodations at all. I recently added a Mustang pillion passenger seat and passenger pegs. Here is a recent pic.

It can certainly be done. But your passenger, if you have a regular one, will not be happy with you.

That's not always true; it is a personal preference. My regular passenger prefers the foot pegs over footboards. She can position her boot on the pegs where the heel and the sole come together, and that allows her to change her foot angle by pivoting the heel on the peg. For her, that is more comfortable than a flat footboard for long rides.
