Hi Members:

Can anyone tell me if I want to go in and replace the stock front fairing speakers on a 2005 Road Glide, if I can just opt for something from crutchfield or wherever and do a 5 1/4 replacement myself? Do I have to use a specific brand or the $ 150.00 Harley ones, or can I shop outside the realm and go with marine grade 5 1/4's? Polk DXi's look sick, but would the mounting depth of 2 5/8 be to deep or just right or does it even matter how deep with what looks like all that room back there. Or can anyone tell me the top mount depth of a stock speaker and what they even are as I have not taken apart the fairing to look inside. Any help is appreciated and thanks. One last thing, can I get away with non-marine grade speakers? There are some great ones much less expensive but will they short out on me if I get caught in the rain?
