Actually, I had heard the term "Fathead" long before reading the term "Twinkie" on this forum. It took me a bit to figure out that you were calling fatheads a twinkie here. Personally, I'll stay with fat head.

This is what I had always heard them called, since back when I bought my '99 FXDX. Also, no mention of the reason for the nicknames of the various engine models, because of the shape of the valve covers.

Just read on the Wikipedia link that the "twinkies" can get their cam chains replaced by gears.

Anyone here did this? any gain or advantages? No gear whining as on SBC's?

Yep, Got my gear drive cams January 2011, 27000 miles ago and love 'em. Plenty of threads to search here to learn more about it.
