Default HD Battery

I was in Walmart the other day and I noticed that they sell motorcycle batteries. I didn't stop but as I walked by I noticed that they seemed to be very inexpensive. 1) Do they fit a Harley? 2) Are they any good?

They sure seemed to be inexpensive. Maybe a decent battery at a good price ???

Before you lay your money down for one do a little research first. First, pay attention to where the battery is made; China? U.S.? etc. Personally, if they are made in China I would stay away from them as they don't tend to have to great a life span or durability. So, the old addage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. Deka makes Harley batteries. You can pick up a Deka non-Harley battery from Advance Auto. The were having a sale on them just a short time ago. And yes, the batteries are made in the USA.

I used to buy them for ATVs and lawnmowers, they worked OK. Used one on one of my old yamaha street bikes, it was about half the price and lasted half as long.

Or buy a Battery Tender Jr and you'll never have to replace your battery. (OK, slight exaggeration, but they make a big difference. I have an 05, and I'm still on the stock battery.)

I've used a few Walmart batteries on sportbikes, they never seemed to last long at all

China batteries SUCK!!! get a Sunheiser aircraft gel batt. or even Interstate or other quality batt. Maybe even an HD. and spend $39 fer a TENDER!!! triples the life or more... gotta Gen Set on a tender, same Batt. over 5 years, still perfect!
Bike batt. not old enuff to tell, but it's on a Tender also.
Bottom line, spend some bux (quality batt.) and TENDER, Done Deal!

I've had the one in my bike almost two years. I've had them last about a year in the past.
