can someone school me on efi ?

I have a bike with a 42mm mukuni and im helping my dad with his 07 fxstc I have no clue about efi. The bike has v&h pipes and airfilter. Is there anygood tuner that will work for now and handle a cam down the road for around 300$??? And will this cool bike off ?? And is this a do it ur self job? Thanks

Any tuner that would handle a cam will need to have the ability to be dyno tuned. Screaming eagle race tuner, power commander, tuners like that.

Do they get alot of money to put a power commander in the bike?

Start at a dealership then go down the line to an indy with your questions
they, could be anyone from a Secret Service hooker hunt to a back Alley proctologist

Most tuners come with a "canned map" that will get tuning close to what you want but a dyno tuning will dial it in. Most tuners are easily installed with easy instructions.

For under $300 a Cobra FI2000R will run the engine cooler and stronger. I can be set for what ever intake, exhaust that is on the bike with no dyno tune or downloads required.

It is plug and play. I have used them for years on five different bikes with great results. Less than an hour to install.

I suggest contacting fuel MOTO. They are a forum sponsor and they have fantastic customer service.

Click on the FUEL MOTO USA link on the right side of the page. EFI is actually simpler than carbs.
