Harley Gas Tank Decals

Harley Gas Tank Decals
Fellas,
Here's a thing I've been hearing for years....but could never tell if it does exist or if it's a myth.
If one's decide to change the gas tank decal from his/her bike...I've been told that there's a book with every single gas tank decal that harley has put out to date.
I've never seen such decal book...and the dealership/distributor here in the country never said a word about such thing...
does anyone knows about it?
for example...if I decide that I want a decal of a model from 1985..where I can check which decals were available that specific year?
Thanks a lot
Dan

Harley, J&P, Custom Chrome, they all have some decals. There are many that are no longer available. Harley also produced some that were part decal, part screen print. Many can be duplicated by a good airbrush artist. Good luck!

I could've sworn the back of the HD catalog had 2 pages with all the different decals (and part numbers to order by).......
My friend put some of the 60's style (the one that looks like the North Star) on his 2002 Fatboy. It looked sharp! Made me want to get that emblem for my bike!

HMHD (Adventure H-D) has lots of original old stuff too. http://www.hmhd.com/links.asp Also, anything original you can't get, but can get a good photo or scan of can generally be reproduced (or already has for individual use only) by any of several custom graphics/tape houses. They can't necessarily market or catalog such items (lest they arouse the ire of certain corporate attorneys) but can legitimately make whatever you might need on a commission basis.

RE: Harley Gas Tank Decals
Thanks for the input, guys.
I've already knew of all those sites that have decals available...my main doubt was if exists such a book or log for an owner to choose a decal from.
Harley's latest phonebook..says to ask a dealer for more information on a variety of decals available...so one must have a log or something to show the customer...I imagine...
