Second bike, Road King vs Street Glide

Hey guys, I'm buying my second bike here soon, going with a touring model. I'm looking at the Road King and Street Glide. Any opinions either way would be appreciated.

I ride a 2000 Road King and just looked at a 2010 Street Glide yesterday. The SG feels smaller than my RK. The rear suspension sits lower on the SG than the RK. The fairing also made me feel a little enclosed in the SG. Overall I like the RK better but the SG does have the audio which the RK does not have in the stock bike.

I could have sworn I just saw a dorsal fin from a surfacing shark out there...

I like the road king because you can dress
them up or strip them down.

Test ride both and get the one you like best. Main difference comes down to fairing and radio.

The only thing that worries me around these parts is how I would be able to tell which Street Glide was mine at bike night. I like the bike but I like the Road King too and would probably go with the King for that reason.

Before I bought my RKC I thought I want a SG...2 minuet ride down the hwy and the buffeting told me it wasn't for me.

I bought my king this spring and have yet to ride with the windshield.

do you want a cruiser or a touring bike

yes the RK is a touring chassis, but its more a cruiser then a touring bike

they both have their own benefits as stated by others, it comes down to a fairing and radio or a windshield

they are almost the exact same price, so to me the SG was the better option with the fairing and the radio.

You can put on a slightly larger windscreen and cure the buffetting, listen to your music and cruise down the highway with the nice heavy front end the fairing gives you

or add some speakers to your RK, but the RK will always just look like a cruiser and the SG will always look and feel like a touring bike

Road King all the way. Who wants to be stuck with a big, ugly rattling piece of plastic in front that you can't remove? You can ALWAYS put a fairing & radio on a RK, but you CAN'T remove it from the SG.

Besides--everybody has a SG. Way too "trendy" for my taste.
