Where I work started requiring steel toes last year. We had to watch a couple of videos in our safety meetings about the time they started requiring them. If something heavy enough falls on your foot to make a steel or composite toe boot hurt your toes then it aint gonna matter WHAT you had on it was gonna destroy your foot regardless.Aint no way a steel toe could make it worse.

I don't wear steel toed boots unless I need the steel toes for work or something. For me there is no reason to wear them for just riding. The way I look at it, if I get in a wreck the toes are the least of my worries.

Steel toed boots allow me to kick cagers when they decide to merge into the lane I am using. Nothing wakes sh1t3@ds up like a biker kicker their fender! Also, nothing says I am not moving, you yield to me, like kicking their front fender.
Be careful though, don't get your foot caught in the bumper and don't get it tuck in the wheel well. Also, don't kick anyone who looks like they could kick your a$$ or carry a larger handgun.

Man when I wore steel toes and was workin for Great Dane trailers I got pissed one day and kicked something with the steel toe boots on, some skin come up missing off the top of my toes where the steel toe dug in. I'm scared to kick things with steel toes on .
