The people here have gone to great lengths to put the 60s behind them. It looks very different now, the downtown area is being revitalized and it no longer looks like downtown Saigon.

My Mom took off and moved us to Texas when I was 6. Didn't get back to NC until about 20 except for a few summer visits. Ended up living there in the 80s and again early 90s thru 98. Love the place but when I got out Wifey wanted to move back to Texas.
I remember in the 80s there was some other Gang things going on for jump-ins.

Few more stories like this and maybe motorcyclists will start to be respected.
DELAWARE, Ohio — A case of road rage turned into a clash that lasted at least 14 miles, ending when a motorcyclist shot a pickup truck driver in the head this afternoon, police said.
The truck driver is expected to live, said Bruce Pijanowski, interim Delaware police chief.
“From what I’m hearing, he was very lucky,” Pijanowski said.
Police were not releasing the names of either the truck driver of the motorcyclist tonight.
No one has been charged. Pijanowski said. Delaware police are investigating the shooting. Neither the motorcyclist nor the truck driver had a passenger.
Pijanowski said police did not know what started the fight between the drivers. He said police think something happened as both were driving near the Rt. 42-Rt. 33 interchange in Union County northwest of Dublin.
Around 3:35 p.m., Pijanowski said, the two ended up near an Auto Zone at 137 E. William St. in Delaware, where the motorcyclist pointed a gun at the pickup truck driver and fired.
He said the truck driver was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Columbus.
He said police have the gun used in the shooting, and said the motorcyclist was in custody.
Ramps leading from Rt. 23 to William Street in Delaware remain closed this evening while police investigate the shooting.
