MT90B16 or a MU85B16???

Really need help on a tire...for my 2004 Harley Davidson FLHTCU/I touring bike....Do I get a MT90B16 or a MU85B16 for the rear using a Dunlop 402 black wall??? what is the difference between them?? Do you us a MT on the front and a MU on the back?

My 08 Road King runs MT90B on the front and MU85B on the rear. Not sure of the difference, but there must be something. That's what it came with from the factory and I've replaced them with the same size.

The MU85 is a bit wider....but not by much.

Ditch the 402s and get something else. I just put Michelin Commander IIs on my Road King and couldn't be happier. Plus, you can actually understand the size. 140/90 B16. Can't beat that.

That's what I want to do when I can get two tires to align with needing replaced. I just replaced a front that still had tread, yet was too old to trust. I bought the bike with a new rear and the front looked good, didn't ride much last year as I was moving, repairing and maintaing two homes so put it off until now.
Do you run the 140/90's front ad rear? I understand bikes with 1 1/4" drive belt can go a size up in the rear.

Most of the difference is the tread pattern.

The difference is in the load rating. And yes the MU goes on the rear.

I put a MU90b16 on my 06 king. Its tight but still fits. MU has a higher load rating
