Default Electrical system lamp(security system)

I have a 2013 Heritage classic and today the Electrical system lamp (security system) light came on about 30-45min into the ride. We stopped to do some shopping and it did the same thing on the way home at about the same time.. If anyone can help me out with this it would be much appreciated..

Mine used to come on all of the time, until I got a siren added to my bike. What that had to do with the light, I don't know but it stopped. If your bike's new, take it back to where you got it and ask them what they think it is. Maybe someone here will know.

Have you tried changing the battery in the key FOB? I know it's a new bike, but that doesn't mean the battery in the FOB is new. If the FOB can't communicate with the security system on the bike, you won't ride far. $5 and 5 minutes will tell you if that's the problem.

I had a 2012 FLSTC, it did have the ABS and Security though, electrical problems started after I had my pipes changed. When you have all your instrument light doin weird **** up to and including NOT shutting off (like the bike not shutting off), it really makes ya wonder if that's the bike for you.
Well for me, it wasn't. I'm now riding a 2013 FLHTK, and so far so good.

The Softail was trailerd back to the dealer 3 times, the 3rd bein the final straw for me.
I hope your issue is simple to fix and then done with anymore problems.

btw the 1st problem was the rear wheel, the 2nd was the problem I described and the 3rd appeared to be the same as the 2nd although they told me it was different.
1. Wheel
2. BCM
3. Wire harness came loose at the right handlebar, my guess is that it may have been left loose while trying to trace problem #2....

Since you aren't going to talk to the dealer until Monday, you might as well check to see if it threw any codes.

I thought that if a light came on the bike automatically stored a code?
