I can't stand it when my pants ride up. It's not a "look" thing, it just bugs me. Here is what I do on longer rides if I'm wearing my boots.

I use one of the pant leg suspender thingies. I don't loop it under the boot like you normally should cause I don't like how tight it pulls the pants. I loop it through the ring on the boot and clip in. Doesn't pull on the pants and keeps it from riding up too far in the wind.

The other day I was getting some nice air up my jeans airing my bag out with both feet on the hiway pegs both cuffs rolled up just right. Anyway then a wasp or flying ant got up there and stung the chit out of my thigh and another one got in my helmet really sucked that day.

Per some thread a while ago, I just bought pants that were 2" longer than I normally wear and the problem is gone. I had the same issue as well so you are not crazy unless we both are.

Stirrups are definitely the way to go. I have both mentioned in these posts.

I used these first. They are cheaper and you know it when you wear them. The buckles are bulky and long. Unless you get shorter pant legs you will walk on the buckles when you get off the bike. The medallion is placed on the strap at the clasp so when you get off the bike, the medallion will be under the sole of your boot.

These are my preferred choice. They are slightly more expensive but well worth the money. The medallion is part of the clasp which shortens the overall length of the assembly. If you have your street jeans on, you can ride with them using the Faarken stirrups. When you get off the bike, you can walk confidently knowing the clasp is not going to be stepped on.

They work for more than just holding your britches down too.

A couple of years ago I was about a hundred miles from home and my throttle grip just sheared off at the ignition housing. I had a set of boot straps in the bags and redneck engineered my way home: working the throttle 96 miles home with a boot strap clipped on to the end ball of the throttle cable. Worst century of riding. EVER.
