Default GPS connection question

Picked up a new to me FLHTK and the previous owner left his zumo power connection & mount on the bike. I priced the zumo and now that I have regained consciousness I have question. Will this connection work with any garmin or is it proprietary to the zumo? No problem taking it off but if it saved me some time all the better.

My Garmin has a USB connection and I suspect yours and the previous owner's does too. My old Magellan had a connection like a audio mini plug so, in that case, I needed to change out the mini plug for a USB.

I have the Zumo, and the mount. I think that it is just for the Zumo units. It would not work at all on my other Garmin that I own. My recommendation, get the Zumo. It is a excellent system.

$600 excellent? You can get a hell of a GPS for $150. I just don't see what makes it 4x better.
Thanks for the connection info though. I will need to do something.

You need to get a Zumo for the cradle. Keep an eye on the classifieds here on the Forum, I've seen some go well below original retail. If you want a cheap one, go ahead -it's your money, your choice. Personally I like mine and the features it has over and above anything else I've ever owned.

Compass. $2.99 at Wal-Mart. Tie it to the handlebar with the wire from the Zumo.
