Was Riding on Borrowed Time
I was coming back from a few hundred mile road trip....towards the end I started feeling a on and off vibration and at low speeds I got a wobble when putting on the rear Breaks...one of those things when riding for a long time did not feel right...
Called a Harley shop about 100 miles away...took it in and they said lets check it first...they called me back in the shop and I had a rear bearing go bad...it was still all there but bad...it ate up the hub where the spacer shaft went through....they said they could put a new bearing in and it should be fine...or what was my thoughts....I said replace the wheel...they were great and said they had a new pull off wheel I could have for 200 instead of the 550 for a new one...so I replaced the wheel, new bearings, new Rotor, and new break pads...they test rode it and all checked out great...bikes rides like new....on highway speeds or out in the middle of no where who know what could have happen....guess my Bell saved my Butt....LOL

Abernathy's HD in Union City , Tennessee....Great Folks...yea they were willing to work out what ever they could to help me out....matter of fact the rotor had just a small grove and the Mech said the pads looked to be OK to him and should not be a problem...did not try and over sell me anything...I said... if we were going to replace the wheel lets put all new stuff on...and they knocked 15% off the Parts

Pappy That is great that they found the problem and were able to be a stand up Dealer and offer you that type of service.We are over in Jackson County East of Nashville,Where are you at ?

Just North of Memphis.......yea my Bike came from Franklin, TN just south of Nashville...
Cool Springs HD....but was just too far away to chance that long of a Ride....
I will be coming through your area this weekend heading to Newport TN....
