What bike is faster a CVO dyna or a stock V rod

There are no 2014 CVO Dyna and there are no standard V-Rod for 2014 either. The Harley website says the V-Rod Muscle: one of two V-Rod models for 2014 has 122 hp with 86 ft lbs of torque.
I'd say that the V-Rod has more horsepower but a Dyna has more torque. Since there is no new CVO, the Dyna Wide Glide comes with the 103 engine which I believe has around 73 horsepower with around 99 ft lbs of torque.
Translates to V-Rod having more top end high speed but the Dyna having more of that push you back in that seat fun.
If I recall, the CVO 110 motor comes in about 75 hp.
These numbers are all general as Harley doesn't like to advertize HP on their website, only torque numbers.

Seriously? Of course the VRSC wins hands down in both short run and long run speed. There is more to overall speed than just torque comparisons. I think if you took all the factors that matter the VRSC comes out with more torque per pound of weight -- lots more. When I look at the raw specs the CVO Dyna is about 250 lbs heavier! (Source: www.topspeed.com) Also, the frontal surface area is much greater on the CVO Dyna so more drag. The VRSC sits about 4" lower than the CVO Dyna as well. My bet would be on the VRSC. No matter.. the CVO Dyna was built for touring and that is what it does best.

Speaking of V-Rods, anybody else catch the documentary today on CNBC concerning the V-rod assy. line in Kansas city. Pretty interesting.

allot depends on the rider. I forget what year, but there was a you tube video of a Goldwing 1500 whooping up on a V-rod at a drag strip. Just looked, and there are a number of videos of Hondas beating Harleys. I guess that is why harley has their own "Harley" races.
I knew a guy that had a fast Volkswagen....but that was just it. It was FAST for a VW.
Sort of like saying "I have the fastest Weiner dog...." Impressive to other Weiner dog owners. 'Busa.

The one where they showed hydro-forming the frame to smooth out the bends? Pretty cool manufacturing on the V-Rod. That documentary gave me new respect.

The vrod is the fastest American cruiser. The vrod engine is the most advanced vtwin engine in existence. So to answer your question no a 2009 cvo fatbob (last cvo dyna) will not outrun a vrod.
