Default how old is your Power commander, life span ?

I bought a 2007 electraglide new in 2007 and installed the power commander 5 retro fit by FM for the 07 bike.

My Question is I am starting to wonder how long will it function ?

I am thinking of replacing it because it is going on 8 years old. If it dies on the road my bike will go lean,i could disconnect it but the AF back plate will be open,i guess i could tape it off in the back to get me home.

I got a SERT in 07 and I don't worry about it going out. I have heard of a bunch of PC's going bad in my reading in here though out the yrs...

Hmm. Wish I could answer your question. I just bought a Vance & Hines FuelPak, after looking at the Power Commander V.

I went with the FuelPak because it just made more sense for my set up and performance goals with a simple Stage 1. But I'd say just enjoy that PC if it's not giving you problems.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, kinda deal. Over eight years of good functioning, I'd say it's earned your loyalty.

I agree, I don't think you do. My PCV is almost 6 years old.

ever hear of "new defective?"( maybe the new will be bad , and you have a good one )
your ECU ,may go bad , your turn sig/brake module may go bad .
your ignition coils may go bad ...
point is it a electronic device...no maintenance, no oil change ..
Sounds like another "winter worry "

think positive , "spring is coming ""
