Is there in this forum or someplace on the net, a fairly comprehensive listing of Harley Davidson models and their years of production? I'm mainly looking for models since 1980 or so, not necessarily the older models.

DIY forum has a breakdown of model designations, that will probably get you what you want.

Pardon my dopiness :-) I didn't notice the DIY section header on the forums here. I went off and did a general internet search for DIY Fourm.

Thanks for the links! Actually, I've run across that type of info. I was wondering if there is a list kind of formatted like this: (This is from a list of Evo's from 1984 to 1998).

FLHR Road King 1995-1998
FLHR-I Road King 1996-1997
FLHRC-I Road King 1998
FLHS Electra Glide-Sport 1988-1993
FLHT Electra Glide 1995-1998

Something that comprehensively lists the models and the years that model was manufactured.

Those two posts are the only ones that I remember seeing...if you run the search, you will find a few others...did you check those?

The VIN post is probably the closest we have...if you do find the list, or put one together, perhaps you would be willing to post back?

I think this may be what you're looking for. Down the left hand side it has a great round-up of models year to year from 1980 - 2003.

There are mistakes in that list...the left side does not skip lines...2003 is off, I don't know if it's my browser or not, but it's not right. It's a comprehensive list, and if it were formatted correctly, it would be good.

I also noticed there's a formatting problem, but once I noticed that it was easy enough to follow.

 

Thank you very much! That list should help me build what I'm after. The listing I'm after will have the models broken down by family, (Touring, Softail, Dyna, Sportster, V-Rod) showing model designation and years of manufacture. If I get it together, I'd be happy to post if back.
