Ramps for loading motorcycles into trucks

I'm looking for a ramp to load my wife's Sportster into the back of my Nissan Titan, but I want one that is also good for loading my softail or something bigger if I need to. Probably need a long, wide ramp, since I need to load and unload alone or with 2 of us.

What good ramps have you all used for loading a bike into a pickup?

I use a fold up aluminum ramp. 1500#capacity (payed used $125.00)
8 foot long, four wide (actually a little less it fits in my 8 foot pickup bed with the tailgate shut )
can leave your tailgate down if you have a shortbed .

It fold to two feet wide , or can be unpinned to have two 2 X 8 ramps .

neat thing is you can ride a full size HD up the ramp , and back it down alone.
four wide lets you put tire in middle , and "duck walk" he bike into the truckbed..

8 long gets you a reasonable , angle to load ..
works for lawnmower, golfcart,HD bagger, 4x4 etc etc..

hope this helps

I've got a Titan as well and I ride a street bob. i bought the black widow 108"x40" from
discountramps.com. It is fairly expensive but worth every single penny. Very high quality. I've used many types of ramps but this is by far the best one. It's got a a hump at the top of the ramp that allows you to have more clearance for lowered bikes too. I bought the extra long ramp and it is perfect for loading and unloading the bike by yourself as the angle is very flat.

I like the design for the black widow as well but yeah, pretty expensive.

I have ramps, but I use them for the ATV's. I would spend a few hundred dollars and get a trailer that is lower to the ground. Unless you have a lot of help loading up a ramp can be fairly dangerous.

You might find this helpful for calculating the length of the ramp to prevent "hang up" :icon_hyper:... http://www.discountramps.com/ramp-calculator-load.htm

Good luck...

Just a thought but a nearby a grocery or industrial area will have outdoor loading docks. Back your Titan up to one and ride the bike on.
