Default Best Raingear

Hello
What do you think would be the best raingear for a rider without a windshield or fairing. Last year we used all of the different pieces of pants and jackets we use for fishing, but each year another piece of these cheapies wear out.

Seems like the HD and BMW rain suits fit the bill for most. They keep you dry, and hold up for years of use.

Alternative is the super light weight and packable Frogg Toggs. They are good for those who will rarely need them. Touch them to the hot pipes and they melt in an instant though.

I agree. went through all kinds of cheapies, then at HD 100 party dealer had 20 % off and I bought a set for $260.00 or something like that.
OL was pissed but almost 15 years later still using them, would`ve prolly spent three times that with the cheap ones.

Without the protection from a shield or fairing... buy the best, because the wind is going to drive that rain into seams and holes you didn't even know existed. I like my HD gear, but I would be worried that even it was not good enough to keep me completely dry without my fairing, because I get wet around the neck already.

Buy the HD rain suit I got mine for around $180.00, Got stuck twice in downpours and worked great, even wore the jacket when it got chilly one evening so does double duty

really like the Frog Toggs that I picked up at Dicks sporting goods store. Price was equal to the internet plus I could return them easily for 90days if I didn't like them.

They worked GREAT on a cross country trip last summer.

I also have the Harley Hi Viz rain gear and am very happy with it.

I have read that the rain gear at the link below is the same as the Harley Hi Viz gear and that this is who makes the Harley rain gear.

http://www.motorcyclecenter.com/c/Mo...ear/1/112.html

I do not know if this is true but from what I can see on line it looks to be the same as my Harley rain gear, without the Harley logo and at a considerably lower price.

Does anyone have this rain gear? If so please tell us about it.

Nelson-Rigg has always finished high in the top 10 ratings of rain suits. We like them because they stuff small for a naked bike.

We rode a benefit poker run last fall entirely in the rain. Afterwards I couldn't help but notice how nice the HD rainsuits were. Definately tour grade.
