Shelf life of unopened oil?
I have three quarts of Mobil 1 V-Twin 20-50 that was given to me by my neighbor. The oil has been on the shelf (unopened) for two years.
I assume it is still good for use as it has not been exposed to air. SUP |
Considering it was made from dinosaurs, it's probably a safe bet that it will last a few more years.

Try web search, you'd be surprised what you can find.

Just found it.
Answer: ExxonMobil recommends a five year maximum shelf-life for engine oils, including Mobil 1™ synthetic. I plan to use it at the next oil change. Thanks, SUP |

All oil companies state 5 years in a original sealed container and one year if open.
By the way oil is not from Dinosaurs that was just marketing stuff. It is from algae that was compressed for a few million years. It's still forming but we must wait. |

I thought oil was something I could buy on my EBT card but they said no.:icon_pimp:

I saw an dependent study of oils as old as 40 years old and they all had very little break down. I wouldnt worry about it.
