I have one, only used it a few times so far this spring. Does what it's supposed to do, easy to use, no problems. Can plan routes with Tyre, or make routes with google maps then import to Tyre which I find easier.

I wasn't looking for a GPS unit with MP3, or gas station finding abilities since my phone can do those things anyway. For around $300 it's a basic GPS that is waterproof.

The only downside I can come up with: it has no speaker on it if you want to use it in your cage, assuming you have no bluetooth in your cage that is.

I don't have the Tom Tom rider just the normal Tom Tom. I bought mine at Sam's a few years back for under $90. Works good for what I use it for, lifetime map upgrade.

I got a Rider V5 last month.
Screen is completely visible even when wearing sunglasses in bright sunlight!
The Tyre map routing program is very user friendly and because it is based on Google maps the maps are always up to date.
No built in speaker, designed for either blue tooth or you can purchase non waterproof car mount with built in speaker.
I always had Garmins in the past, so menu trees seem real strange.
Much cheaper than Garmin Zumo!
Bulkier than Garmin Zumo.
Comes with Ram mount and both temporary and permanent power cables.
Of course it is IPV7 water proof. (Good to like .5 meters under water for 30 minutes!)

Still getting used to it, but I think it will be a keeper. Third week of June we are taking a 1500 mile Dragon / Nashville trip. After that I should know for sure...

It's half the price of the Zumo 665.

I use a standard TomTom.
