Street Vibrations fatal wreck
This weekend is Street Vibrations in Reno/Tahoe/Virginia City. Those of you who have been to the event know there are a lot of vendors, great bikes and good times. The weather is perfect for the event.
This morning three motorcycles were involved in a head-on collision on the very curvy Geiger Grade, the main road between Reno and Virginia City. According to the news, one bike crossed the center double yellow line and struck two bikes in the opposite direction, leaving two dead and the road closed.
Condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased. News is preliminary and names have not yet been released.
If you are there or know someone who is there, remind everyone to ride safe and come home the same way you left.

That's a shame. The pic in my avatar was taken on Geiger Grade. It is not what I would consider a dangerous road. Riders of average skill should have no problem negotiating those curves.

Perfect reason to avoid these events. SV is a good time, but too many new riders out there on bikes they don't know well enough...oh yeah, drunks and show offs too.
Wish the families and survivor my best.
Be safe.

because just riding anywhere (except deserted highway) you're running into all that. Maybe the new rider thing is the exception, but then -where do all the new drivers go ?
It's pretty hard to imagine what you do for a bike rolling over the double yellow though. ( or a car for that matter )
