Scratched Slip-ons
Hi All,
I'm in the process of installing my Stage 1 (I should be out riding!) and I noticed that the mufflers have scratches on the inside, but they're visible. Looks like when they but the guts in, it scratched...It this something that you would ask for new ones. or say f it and continue? I'll be waiting patiently! http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...621_084131.jpg |
After a few miles you will never see them again. Put them on and then go for a nice long ride.

Yes to the above replies...In 100 miles they'll be black inside

They are "scratched" on the inside from the baffles being installed. As mentioned above, ride it. The new "rumble" will more than make up for the temporary marks.

Squirt them real quick with some flat black paint until the exhaust darkens out the scratches. If those scratches were on the outside of the pipe then you'd have a whole different kind of problem.

Well...that's what I did...Thanks for all the feedback...Everything went as planned...(I don't believe it!)...She sounds GREAT!...Thanks again

Make that hi-temp paint if you do this. Otherwise, just forget about it and ride. No one is going to look there anyway, except you. |
