Flush Mount Fuel Cap

I've read a few articles about the LED Flush Mount caps, but with my console telling me the fuel is it necessary? I'm curious if anyone has a Flush Mount setup that is not LED and what they have to say about them.

I don't have one and won't because I've read here that they sometimes get stuck down. They look good but I can't deal with not being able to put gas in the tank.

Hi All,
I have had mine on for nearly 2 yrs now & have had no issue.
I always check when refuelling that there is no muck in the way that may jam it up.
I think it gives the tank a nice clean look, but each to there own.:icon_wink:
Cheers

good advice

Chickinonachain, thanks for the information, I would have never thought about it not popping up.

Sniegy, thanks for the quick solution. I like the look of it too. Is your setup the Harley LED one?

I've had the flush mounts on for a year now, no issues at all. I think it looks great. I have the black gloss and my bike is vivid black. A buddy has the chrome ones and they look good too. My gauge is the LED with blue lights, looks real good. I know you're asking for non LED but I have no info on that. I never had the fill cap stick down on me, only been a year though:)

No i don't have the LED variant, But it is the HD one in Black.
I have the speedo that has all the info in it instead.

Cheers

Mine were installed pre-delivery 2.5 years ago. I have never had any issues or difficulty with the fill cap. The LEDs run closely with the fuel gauge on the speedo.

I will probably go that route while rebuilding my Road King and putting a 7 gallon tank on. Glad to hear from a couple that there are no issues.

I don't think it would be stuck if it wouldn't pop up. You could just peel off the outer trim ring, and then grab it. The cap is not flush with the tank, that is why they have the chamfered trim ring that uses double sided tape.

Bone Doc - do both fuel caps open or just the one on the right. I am thinking of getting the same speedo you have and flush mount caps, but don't know if I buy two flush mount caps, or a kit? With the new speedo, which has a fuel gauge on it, no need to get a cap/gauge combo but I don't know if that is an option or not.
