Rider killed

Went to work this morning. Routine morning until about 8:30 when I found out that a friend and coworker was killed while riding home last night. Great guy with a wife and 3 young kids. Life is fragile. Ride safely.

Riding a motorcycle involves risk. One we all choose to take every time we swing a leg over the seat. A little more than 12 riders die a day riding a motorcycle. Maybe we should have a separate forum to post the daily death reports.

Very true, sorry to hear about your friend.

Sorry for your loss and especially his family's loss. Motorcycles are so much fun to ride and have as a hobby/interest, we tend not to think of the risk.

That sounds like an excellent idea.

Sorry about you loosing a friend and my condolences to his family.
Was riding around today and seen a bike in the ditch with standing around people all over the place. No clue about the rider yet. Plenty of cops around directing traffic, but no ambulance yet. Sure makes you pay even more attention...might be on the news tonight.

Sorry for your loss. As others in this thread have stated motorcycling involves some risk but we can reduce that risk IMO to an insignificant amount with rider training, positive attitude and experience and wearing proper protective motorcycle gear. FF helmet, armored jacket, boots and armored gloves. I know motorcycle pants should be on this list too but in hot weather I skip them because I'm willing to risk road rash to my legs in exchange for convenience of just wearing dress pants or jeans and not having to change.
