Default Passenger Floorboard Loose

Howdy All...these flloorboards on this bike are gonna drive me nuts...I just replaced the brackets for the rears...now, it seems that one of them is a wee bit loose/limp in the upward position. I disassembled it - checked the ball & spring - and the spring seems to have lots of tension...so - I'm thinking maybe the indent - the little cup the ball goes into is worn down somehow? I dunno.

Anyone else seen this and/or have any quick fixes to keep it from dropping down while I'm riding?? Thanks in advance.

Default Same issue

I just bought a used pair and I’m having an issue keeping them in the up position. Looks like the ball that locks them in place has worn a groove leading from the seated position. Not sure if this is the issue because I haven’t torn them down. I was hoping for an easy fix but it’s been my experience that easy isn’t ever an option.
