Question about Fuel Gauge options
Hello. I have a 2010 softail fuel tank that has been converted to work with a carburetor (petcock). I'm currently just watching the mileage and gassing up at 100 miles. It would be nice to have a fuel gauge.
Are you aware of any fuel gauge options that wouldn't be too difficult to install? I'm wondering what custom bike builders use when the fab their own tanks?
Thanks,
D

A 2010 Softail would of had a fuel gauge on the left side of the tank. Is the hole still there? Also under the dash console on the top of the tank there is a plate. On top is the fuel pump and gauge sender (float) connector. Under is the fuel gauge sender itself. You will need the sender in order to get the gauge to work.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm familiar with all those parts...I'm actually the guy that did the conversion. As you see from the attached picture, I currently just have a dummy cap over the hole where the gauge would have been placed.
And under the dash I have the plate with the connectors...but the float/etc is not in the tank. When I bought the tank it never had the parts and when I decided to go carburetor instead of EFI (when I built the bike), I never had the need to purchase the float/etc that would have worked with the computer.
