Default Anyone ever remove the belt guard brackets?

Looking to hack these off and am wondering how securely they're welded on there? Will a good smack knock them off or do they need to be grinded off?

Now what do you know about Harleys?! Built like a tank, that's what - so those brackets won't knock off easily at all. If that bike is as new as it looks it would be a shame to spoil it for the next owner IMHO.

Phew - well done! I just refitted my Buell's belt guards having installed a new rear tyre and won't personally ride without them.

Why would you want to remove the guard? One stone bounces up off the road and the belt an pulley will be toast, no?

Yes! A friend of mine bought a new Buell several years ago, rode it home from the dealer and took his guards off, then visited to show off his new bike. He had already split the belt with a sharp flint and damaged the rear pulley - all on the same day he bought the bike! Of course there are others who have avoided that damage.....

I don't like the looks of them, and have always removed them without issue (knock on wood hehe)
