Default Best and shortest windshield for an Electra Glide

Hello all!

I'm still kinda new here so if I'm posting where I shouldn't or there is already a million threats covering this (I did look but didn't see anything that covered my question) then give me a little direction and I'll make amends. 😊

So, I recently picked up a 1995 Electra Glide and love it. There's a couple things that I didn't love, however, like the windshield. I wanted short... I hate looking through the glass. So I found 4.5" smoked windshield on ebay for cheap. Sweet, right!?!?

Wrong! The turbulence at highway speeds just about rips my glasses off and turns my helmet into a Top Fuel Funny Car parachute!

So, my question to all you experienced touring bike riders is this:

Is there a happy medium or a good short wind screen out there?

Thanks!
Artie

Hey Artie,
Check out either the HD wind splitter or klockwerks flare.
Due to their design you can go shorter but it's dependant also on your height.
A 6' rider maybe able to get away with a 6.5 shield but not sure.
Check with your local dealer they may have demos to let you try before you buy.
I'm in the market too, interested in feedback on your question.
Ride safe.

Best advice, get a windshield that is just below eye level. Might be taller than you want but you won't have to buy new glasses after every ride.

II can relate. I just ordered a Cee Bailey's reverse curve. Hope that it resolves my issue.

I would refine that just a little by saying nose level! By all means allow yourself to see over it under normal circumstances, but I will quite happily duck down briefly to avoid heavy rain or wash from other vehicles.
