Fork sliders, chrome or polished?

If I were to replace stock sliders on my FLHXS, is it better to get chrome ones or possibly have mine polished locally by a company who does incredible work?
I don't know what polishing would cost but I also thought for reduced downtime, I could get some good take offs from the auction and have the guys polish them, or purchase chromed ones?

I'd personally go chrome, use an exchange program, no downtime at all. Polishing I think is a maintenance issue.

Get a new set of chrome ones from Hawg Halters, Sport Chrome, or Arlen Ness. Their products are fully chromed unlike the HD set, and they all offer the hidden axle option which cleans up the front end nicely.

I can only live with so much chrome - I recently replaced my old sliders with near new take-offs - polished.

Use the exchange program from Joe at Willy Shiny, and go chrome. The upkeep with polished anything is enough to make it not worth the money...

I agree with the chrome,I had a set polished & they look good but too much maintenance.Half the price but more work.
