2500ks speedo flashing 1200 is this a service warning

The allowed time to use as a 883 is just about to expire...upgrade soon. When the "1200" is on solid (not flashing), the bike will cease to operate until the 1200 upgrade is performed

It's a warning that if you depend on the clock function to be somewhere on time you're gonna be late. Or early.

The heat down under is obviously getting to you! FFS tell us more, so we can help ya. What year bike and what does your owners manual tell you about this flashing? I have never heard of a service light on a Harley.

Maybe the OP held that button a little longer at some point than needed and possibly it came back to "same-state" (haven't tested that) if ignition was cycled
