Rear Suspension
OK my wife and I with gear we are at 525-575lbs. i got a 2010 road glide the rear air shocks are terrible Ive tried more air less air i just cant find the sweet spot.
so question is whats a good rear shock for a heavy load? Ive been looking at the progressive 444 or 944. anyone have miles on these shocks and can offer feed back or another suggestion.
i was also looking at the fox shocks but im not sure i want to spend that kind of money.
i will also be doing a front fork fluid and seals change since the bike has 29k miles on it.
thanks

JRI, Legends, Ohlins and Progressive all make adequate to great shocks for your bike. Progressive is the most popular brand when it comes to suspension and they make a bunch of different levels of shocks. I really like the ride/performance of JRI and Legends. I know spending money on suspension isn't a 'sexy' mod, but I feel it makes the biggest/best improvement on our bikes. Also, since you are going into the forks, installing some monotubes from Progressive or Legends will complete the suspension transformation and your bike will handle flawlessly solo and two-up...

As there are two of you, don't buy cheap shocks! You may be happy when solo, but Mrs L won't be back there, as her riding experience, sitting over the rear wheel, is not as comfortable as yours. So it is worth spending on the better quality shocks, for several reasons: you get great results for both of you, by buying once; you can transfer your new shocks to any other touring Harley, or sell them separately; you will enjoy riding together a lot more, may even ride more often.
I have Ohlins shocks and fork cartridges, courtesy of HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal.

before you drop that kind of cash, you might think about changing out the oil in the shocks.i did as have many others and it makes a world of difference.you won't find any reference to this in the manual, harley says the air shocks are not serviceable.there are threads here on this topic if your interested.
