Where can I get OEM parts QUICKLY ?
Hello Guys. I need a set of "push-pull" throttle cables for a 17 Fat Bob. So far the only options I can find are Ronnie's HD.com which doesn't tell you if anything is in stock or my local dealer who has nothing in stock ever! Is there anywhere you can see whats in stock and have something overnighted? I'm impatient and tired of waiting 5-7 days for the simplest of parts. Took me 6 days to get a pair of OEM grips! Thats ridiculous....

If you can't find them locally find them online, tell them to ship next day delivery or 2nd day which will add cost.
There are 3 Harley dealers around Atlanta check them.

Stock all the parts before you need 'em. Sure, you may have extras laying around for years, but they'll be "ready to go" when you need them. Especially consumables.

Harley's parts dept can source and check inventory from any HD dealer in the country. Have yours look for the nearest in-stock parts. 'Nice' dealers don't need to be asked. Or call any nearby dealer and ask.

Smokey Mountain Harley in Maryville TN keeps a large parts inventory. I buy bunches of parts from them and they are usually in stock. Give them a call, ask for Joe ( my favorite parts man there)and let them overnite the parts to you.

I know a guy that was married to the daughter and her dad owned a dealership. He said they had 2 semi trailers full of take off parts. They used them for crash damage repair when they could. Another dealer close by has a sale once a year and sells all kinds of take off parts. Don't know why anyone would leave good parts for them to sell.

Next time your dealer tells you they'd have to order it, ask them to do a local search for the nearest one. Then decide if it's worth driving to get it today. That's the quickest way.
