Default 50mm vs 58mm TB air cleaner fitment?

I have a 16 cvo rgu. have done and will do more performance mods.

thinking about adding the SE 58mm TB.

the question:

Will an a/c that fits the stock 50mm tb not fit on the 58mm???
Whether I'm talking about the stock HD SE Ventilator or an aftermarket a/c.

It fits, You will need to bore the stock SE a/c back plate to 58mm, however, no big gain power with TB only

It'll fit. The bolt pattern is the same but as mentioned above you'll need to open up the center. A Dremel with a sanding drum makes quick work of it.

On mine it already had the 58mm gasket stuck on it (HD probably uses the same gasket for both) so I used that for a guide & just worked slowly & evenly around the opening.....

See.... this is what I keep getting. some say NO, same say yes.

I understand the the "inlet diameter" for the 50 is smaller than the 58 (which is 2.500")

I'm wanting to buy a new air cleaner. I still have the 50mm TB as of now, but may move to the 58mm. I don't want to have to buy another a/c again.

So maybe I should have asked this question: If I buy an a/c that fits the 58mm TB, will it it still fit the 50?

The Screaming Eagle heavy breather will fit both 50 and 58mm throttle bodies. It had an insert for the 50mm. Not sure about the others.

The line of Outlaw HiFlow Air Cleaner Systems fit both the 50mm and 58mm throttle bodies.

We have installed many, as have our Customers.

On several bikes, we've removed 58mm specific A/C's and replaced with ours (that fit both) and they've dyno'd out better.

Went from the stock 50mm with a fuel moto ac/dc round filter and put a 58mm on. Bolt hole pattern is the same for mounting...like the others have said you'll need to increase the inner diameter of mounting plate for whatever aircleaner you have...the fuel moto one had plenty of meat to bore out and make a nice smooth rounded transition to the larger throttle body. Used a pneumatic angle grinder with a 60 grit sanding wheel...took maybe 15 minutes total to open up and round off and then buff smooth with a fine grit scotch Brite pad.
