This is a good time to change the battery in your Hands Free HD Security FOB.....get ready for spring.....I started my FXDX today after a month or so of sitting, walked away with the FOB in my pocket. This is normal, the FOB has to be "near" the bike to start but once started, the FOB can move away. My FXDF also has a Lojack system FOB. I got 50 feet from the bike walking to my shop and got a phone call, text, and email from Lojack to tell me that either my bike was moved OR the FOB battery needed replacing. I checked the battery for the HD FOB and the Lojack FOB....both batteries marginal at 2.9 volts.....installed new batteries which are fresh and have 3.3 volts. SO, I am glad this happened at home and that I keep plenty of spare CR2032 batteries around. I keep those spares in my tool bag too, ya never know....hate to get stranded because of bad battery in the FOB. If it wasn't for the heads up from Lojack, I would not have thought about it. Now I mark my Outlook calendar to change them every 6 months

 

Isn't Daylight saving time when one typically changes their smoke detector and FOB batteries?

My bike, 2016 ultra, started flashing the lights with the key fob in my bag while in TV he pizza box. Sometimes I'd have to take it out and move it up front. That was my reminder to change the battery out.
