Default Products used that work beyond expectations

Figured this might be a helpful thread in the future. In another thread I asked about cleaning chrome as the Road King I bought from my Dad had rain gear melted to the down pipes. He had tried Mothers, which didn't touch it, a few other products and gave up. After finding Jay Leno endorse Quick-Glo on youtube, I ordered some. I figure if its good enough for his legendary collection, it'll do just fine for me. I was blown away. Put a little Quick-Glo on a foam cone attached to a cordless drill and had at it. Within 2 minutes the melted material was gone and the chrome was polished like new. I also used to to polish around the headlight nacelle and other chrome. Everything gleamed. I also used it on chrome on a 1984 Magna. Pics below. Throw your Mothers away and order some of this stuff. Its the real deal. Little goes a long way.

Melted rain gear

After Quick-Glo

I forgot to take a before pic, but the melted rain gear on this pipe was horribly solidified on. Took a few minutes but it came off.

A little residue remains here, but it will come off with a little more work

1984 Honda Magna Before

After

Cousins son turned me onto this stuff. A bottle runs about $35 on Amazon. Its pro grade stuff, Just a drop or two cover a large area. Not like store bought dressing you have to slather on to get a nice black. Was told it lasts much longer than store bought dressing. Before/after pics to come

Another product HIGHLY recommended, John Deere penetrating oil. Puts BP blaster and even Kroil to shame. Stop by a dealer and spend $5, you'll be impressed. I don't think its sold anywhere else but Deere dealers.

J&S Lift. $135.oo CL score that I upgraded to air assist.

Capt. Itch Crotch Cooler that I wouldn't dream of riding in the Florida heat with out.

My Cool-*** seat protector. Seat never gets hot when parked out in the sun.

We get asked a lot about what to use on leather ,everything in our shop leaves with a coating of this. It works on your bags ,jackets, chaps, contains bees wax for waterproofing..

Regarding the quick glo, I also saw the Jay Leno commercial. I was very dubious, because I'd tried other stuff that didn't even touch the rust on my front wheel of my old Sportster. I recently got a 02 Ultra and it had rust starting on the chrome pieces in the dash, just small amounts but very irritating because it's right in front of your face. I got the bike at a good enough price that if I would've had to I could've replaced them, but thought what the heck, for $12 it's worth a shot. It not only worked (easily) on the Ultra's chrome pieces it also worked on half of my badly rusted Sportster wheel. (took a lot of elbow grease on the wheel though because I hadn't thought to use a polishing cone and a drill) Wheel looks strange with half nice and shiny and the other half rusty. (lol) but it's sure obvious that it works. When I finish the wheel job I'm going to not do it by hand.

I use a beeswax product as well, have since my days growing up on a farm - Obenauf's HD LP goes on all my leather products. You do need to reapply, but it can restore dried leather even to a certain degree.

If you want to clean un-coated leather the Leatherique system is the best out there. Wallets, seats, car seats anything that is not coated it is amazing.
