2011 Sporty 1200 Chk Eng and Battery indicators stay on.
I have a 2011 Sportster 1200 Custom. Occasionally, after about 15-20 riding, the Check Engine and Battery indicators come back on stay on simultaneously . So far each time this has happened, I pull over as quick as possible and completely shut down the bike.
Then I either restart the bike immediately or wait 10 minutes and then restart (have tried both methods, makes no difference in the end result). The restart has worked to reset the indicator lights each time, and afterward they have yet to repeat the problem during that ride.
With that being said, this spring I installed a new Duracell AGM DuraGM 14L-BS battery, which is made for the sport battery location on the bike. Here is the battery link. https://www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/cyl10002. \
All the connections are secure and safe, I am puzzled about 1) inconsistency- why it does not happen each time when the bike is started, 2) why the two lights have not repeated after shut down and restart, and 3) I neither hear anything odd or smell anything hot when I stop and pull over.
All other indicators are in good working order.
Any ideas? Appreciate the input.

Is it charging properly? And is it charging properly when it gives you the code? (aka take a meter with you, or ride close to your house until it does) Regulators will often start failing as they get hot, and will work fine once they cool back off, get the code to kick, leave it running and check charging, should be close to 14v at 2500 RPM'ish
