I don`t use it on new spark plugs, and very sparingly on used plugs, and torque to minimum spec.
Yup, people tend to overtighten lubed plugs. Recipe for problems with aluminum heads. A torque wrench is your friend.

do not use a metal base on spark plugs, the mixture can cause seizures believe it or not. the thermoplate will work but it is recommended a product like BG graphite be used, this is what an industrial engine needs. any anti-seize on plugs should be one spot two threads down on the electrode side. in a highly used machine with short plug life, recommended to clean the hole threading.
the big issues is if the plug seal goes south, the hot combustion gases can carbon the metal base carrier which can include even clay.

nickel based anti-seize on spark plugs.... heat, steel, aluminum..... galvanic reaction and pulled threads??? don't want to chance that! besides I change plugs every spring...cheap insurance.

Geez, just put a small amount of anti seize on the threads.

It is not rocket science.
