Georgia Boots with flat soles

Georgia Boots with flat soles
I recently bought a pair of Georgia Mach Toe boots. I was on a out of town ride and the boots that I left with got filled with water during a torrential downpour. I bought the new boots, laced them up, hopped back on my bike and started riding. Within the first minute I realized that I have a huge problem, the flat souls of the boots won't grip my pegs. No matter how I position my feet on the pegs they just keep walking off as I'm riding.
I notice alot of riders wear the same boots that I bought so I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into the same problem.
I have two options. I can either buy new pegs or alter the souls of the boots. The reason why they slip off is because they have no ledge on the soul like most other boots. I have been thinking of ways to create a ledge. One thought is to heat up a pipe until it's red hot and then step on the pipe to burn the shape of the pipe in to the soul. My other thought is to get a Porta band sander with 2" band and sand a ledge. I figure I will try to alter the boots first before I buy a set of bear trap style pegs.
If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks

That's a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I have a old bike inner tube in my garage. I bet I could slide a piece over each peg and that will provide more grip to keep boot locked into place. My left boot is fine because the clutch area of the primary cover keeps my left foot from slipping off. It's only the right side that keeps walking off.
