Default Clutch Recall - FREE Repair?

I got recall # 0173 for the Hydraulic Clutch System with the Secondary Clutch Actuator.

When this work is done, is it all 100% FREE?

I had a lot of work done yesterday and this morning I say I was charged $16.13 for the recall work.

Brake Fluid DOT4 $6.79
Recall Kit $9.34

I thought when any recall is done, it is 100% free???

I have not brought mine in yet, but if that’s the only work being performed I would absolutely expect it to be free / 100% covered by MoCo.

They can show charges, for accounting purposes, but they also must show where they credited you for the recall parts and labor. There is to be no charge to the consumer for recalls.

Yes it is free. Even if your warranty has run out or been cancelled this repair has to be done free.

Recalls are done at the MoCo expense, thus they don't like to issue them often.

Your dealer should have a warranty rep. in the service department. I worked with mine and they ordered the parts which took about three weeks and then I was put on schedule to replace it.

Default Clutch recall

This is my $ 300.00 replacement part. I don't trust H D mechanics.
