Unhappy Harley Davidson Night Rod Special 2008 - Engine Breakdown

I have bought my dream bike 2008 Model Harley Davidson Night Rod Special beginning of the year . The main reasons I have bought this bike were It was dealer serviced and ran only 669 miles .
Unfortunately I dint have any luck with the bike . I have ridden around 300 miles till date .The Bike got break down while I was riding . I had to tow the bike to the nearest Harley show room as advised by a local mechanic friend .
They stripped the engine to diagnose the issue .Most of the engine components have to be replaced and they gave me an estimate of £6600 to repair the bike . Its almost the price I have bought the bike .
I have searched online to purchase a used engine . But No luck with that . Some of my friends asked to get rid of the bike selling it for scrap . I have bought the bike with high expectation and I do not feel like getting rid of it .Could anyone guide me how to handle this ?

I'm not sure what you're asking.....I had an 02 V rod an I beat the crap out of it....hammered it hard, hit the rev limiter many times an never had a problem. It had 22,000 miles on it when I sold it...I ride with a guy with a 2006 V Rod screaming eagle an we ride hard an he's never had a problem.

Looks like you got a bad deal on the bike, is this the same place that you bought the bike? Did you run it without coolant or oil?

the previous owner could have overheated the bike an sold it to you. I liked my V rod but the GF hated riding on it....from what I've heard an read they are pretty much bullet proof. are there any laws there protecting the buying when the seller is unloading a known problem?

Id give hammer performance engines a call and see how their prices match up compared with the mother ship, It can’t hurt.

Have you checked Ebay for used engines for sale? Maybe you could find one that works for you.
