Should I run my bike tonight before I have to ride her early tomorrow?
Hi all, I need to ride into work REALLY early tomorrow morning which is going to mean me literally having to fire her up and go immediately so as not to cause too much disturbance for my neighbours. I was going to run her at idle for 10-15 minutes tonight in readiness for this ( to get a bit of oil around the places where it needs to be) but I've read posts before saying that running her and not riding her is actually a bad thing to do.
I have no option other than riding the bike in the early hours of the morning tomorrow so should I just fire her up and go or run her for a while tonight first?
Any advice would be appreciated.

There is no benefit to do this. Any oil that gets circulated in the motor will have drained down by the next day.
You heard right, running the bike for 15 minutes will do nothing good. Even if you did, by the time you started it the next morning the bike would be stone cold. So start it up in the morning, let it idle for a minute or two and gently ride it out of the area.

NO, NO. If you're going to be riding your bike in the morning you should NEVER start it the night before. It can cause premature failure of the muffler bearing and the exhaust clevis. In rare cases you could also cause a fracture in your left side case whippet.
