Default FXDLS fork tubes; suspension upgrades.

Here are some pictures of a left side tube on a FXDLS (part #45500434) and a brand new (either side) FXDL or FXDB fork tube (part #46605-06), which is the same tube as the right side on the FXDLS and only costs $91 at the parts dpt. As some of you may know the Lowrider S comes equipped with the HD Premium Ride single cartridge (part #45400058) that is not so premium after all. In order to upgrade the suspension the left tube must be swapped to a right side tube. If you're looking to upgrade to: Ohlins, Legend, Progressive, Racetech, etc. this modification must be made.

Default check valve

My Ohlins 30mm & the 25mm fully adjustable require using both tubes but remove the check valve from the bottom of the tube. I do not need the check valve to perch the top out spring on as the R&T system has the top out spring already on the shaft.

For these standard FXD 49mm tubes Ohlins only offer the 22mm. They are also fully adjustable.

That's most likely due to the fact that the don't remove the check valve at the bottom of the tube. End of the tube probably needs to be cut cut for removal I suspect.. Howard Mentions it.. Pretty much above the average shade tree..

Well, not for all Upgrades

One 'Budget" upgrade is using the Race Tech Kit that includes an Emulator for the damper rod side and Compression and Rebound Valves for the Cartridge side. You would also probably want new springs. Use all your other original parts.

Another way ... well, do you still have the Cartridge side Oil Lock ... that you could take some good pics and provide a couple measurements?
